(C) “Tactics of Psychological Harassment, Violence and Abuse - Blame Shift."

One of the tactics used by perpetrators of abuse is “Projection or Blame-Shift”. Freud, (1936) coined this term, when a person attributes their own unwanted thoughts, feelings, or motives onto another person.

(C) The BLAME game or deflecting blame is a form of gaslighting, intended to intimidate, humiliate or confuse the target. A perpetrator averts the blame of their abusive behaviour onto their target. The perpetrator doesn't take responsibility, ownership or apologise for their inappropriate, harmful behaviour but shifts the focus, blame, guilt onto the target(s). It is an unsafe and unhealthy behaviour. The perpetrator wants to keep control using psychological abusive tactics . Coercive Control is a pattern of controlling and manipulative behaviour to exert power and control over a target. The perpetrator manipulates and twists the account of the event(s) and projects blame even though the target is not at fault. It is a highly dangerous situation and entangles the target in a cycle of abuse ! Know the signs of abuse and assert your Right to Safety.
