Workplace Psychological Wellbeing & Safety Strategy - Launch in Athens, Greece

Updated: 3 days ago

Psychological wellbeing is the capacity for self‑awareness and the ability to interpret human experience through a purpose‑driven vision — a way of seeing that aligns our inner world with conscious intention.

I am honoured to launch my Workplace Psychological Wellbeing and Safety Strategy in Athens, Greece on February 3rd, 2026 — the home of Socrates, who declared that “the unexamined life is not liveable for a human being.” His insight calls us to pause, reflect, and engage deeply with the truth of our own experience.

Athens is also the city where Socrates’ legacy was carried forward by Plato, who envisioned a just society grounded in wisdom, virtue, and the pursuit of the good; and by Aristotle, whose rigorous inquiry into ethics, politics, and human flourishing continues to shape our understanding of what it means to live well, lead well, and act with integrity.

Athens itself embodies the very qualities required for psychological wellbeing & safety and organisational integrity: the ability to think clearly, to choose consciously, and to protect what is human and dignified in ourselves and in our communities. It is also the historic home of diplomacy, truth‑telling, and philosophy — traditions that continue to shape its identity today. In this spirit, the Greek government is now embedding wellbeing across all aspects of Greek life, recognising its central role in human and societal flourishing. The city offers a powerful metaphor for this work.

Athens takes its name from Athena — the Sage and Strategist, whose wisdom, courage, and strategic clarity continue to illuminate the path of conscious leadership. She was not a deity of force but of discernment — of seeing the truth beneath appearances and acting with principled intention. Her legacy reminds us that leadership begins with inner alignment, and that wellbeing and safety are strengthened when we honour truth, consciousness, and human dignity.

Drawing on Carl Jung’s work — particularly his use of Greek mythology and his concept of the Shadow — I explore the parts of us that seek truth beneath the surface. My Wellbeing and Safety Strategy extends these ideas. As Jung wrote, “Until you make the unconscious conscious, it will direct your life and you will call it fate.” This is the heart of transformation: illuminating what lies beneath our behaviours, cultures, and systems so that we can act with clarity rather than compulsion.

My Wellbeing & Safety Strategy embarks on a journey that will reshape how we understand and experience psychological wellbeing and safety. My strategy bridges therapeutic, philosophical, and psychological foundations with contemporary leadership. It examines the difference between a life lived in reaction and a life shaped through conscious creation.

Wellbeing International Conference, Athens

The Human-Centric Advantage Tuesday, February 3, 2026Dais Polyhoros Event Venue

Wellbeing has ceased to be just another initiative of the Human Resources Department. Today, it is the cornerstone of every organization aiming for sustainability, innovation, and growth.

At the fourth consecutive Wellbeing at Work conference, we will not discuss the "why" these initiatives are important. We will clarify the "how"—how wellbeing transforms from a cost into a critical investment component and from a commendable initiative into a competitive advantage.

Beyond the important topic of wellbeing for both personal and professional life, we will delve into the strategic link between people's wellbeing and measurable business outcomes. We will examine how a culture of wellbeing fuels productivity, reduces the cost of talent attrition, enhances flexibility, and protects the employer's reputation.
