Int. Labour Organisation Convention 190, Elimination of Violence & Harassment in the World of Work

International Labour Organisation Convention 190, Elimination of #Violence and #Harassment in the World of #Work is due to commence. [45777/21]

Ireland is an ILO member state and is committed to ratify the ILO Convention 190 to provide safe workplaces free from Violence & Harassment in the World of Work. Please see attached letter I received from

Damien English, TD (2022) Dept., Enterprise, Trade and Employment, stating that Ireland should ratify ILO 190 by end of 2022. Its now 2023 and Ireland still needs to ratify ILO 190.

David Cullinane, TD and Sinn Fein Health Spokesperson joined Andrea Gilligan on Lunchtime Live on #Newstalk (January 2023) #bullying #HSE to discuss the ongoing bullying in the Health Service Executive and what Government can do in response.

Please see response I also received from Mary Lou McDonald TD 31st March 2022 and links to recent Parliamentary Questions Deputy McDonald has raised with the Minister which set out in full the #Government’s position. Thank you for linking in with Mary Lou on this matter.

The short answer is no, the Irish Government has not yet ratified the #ILO Convention 190 but it has signalled its intent to do so. Please find below links to more recent Parliamentary Questions Deputy McDonald has raised with the Minister which set out in full the Government’s position.
