©Turn the Dark Power of Workplace Bullying to a journey of Self-Empowerment

Updated: Mar 7, 2023

© Bullying is a very harsh experience to experience or be exposed to. For most people it is an traumatic overwhelming experience. The level of bullying you experience will impact on how long it takes to recover or reclaim Self. It may take even longer or be more difficult if you've been isolated, ostracised and have no support system in place. It’s Workplace Bullying Awareness Week we must take a deep breath and acknowledge we have begun our journey of self-awareness. We know bullying is inappropriate behaviour and that someone else has no right or authority to demean or make you feel unsafe and unwell.

My first step today is to be grateful, I now have the knowledge that "I can" free myself from someone else's inappropriate behaviour. Someone else's inappropriate behaviour is nothing to do with me. I did not cause it. Today I start developing skills and tools to self-empowerment. Today I love, care and protect myself. I begin my journey of self-awareness and self-empowerment. Nobody said it was easy but we have to start to break free from the cycle of abuse and stop tolerating inappropriate behaviour. Each and every one of us is at different levels of the experience that we had to endure. We are all at different levels of recovery so let’s respect that and show each other compassion. One thing we have in common is we want to stop the dark power of workplace bullying.

Note to Self : I love, care and protect myself.
